ArchivalResource

Scrapbook, 1948.

The accession consists of a small scrapbook created by B. King Couper, a graduate student of Harald Sverdrup who received his master's degree in oceanography in 1948. The scrapbook consists mainly of snapshots, but also includes newspaper clippings, color postal cards and other items. The photographs in the scrapbook largely document Couper's friends and life at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. There are many photographs of campus scenes, as well as images of the village of La Jolla. Many photographs are labeled, and some are dated.
